●Day 1: Addis Ababa – Semera – Erta Ale Fly from Addis Ababa to Semera. Upon arrival, begin your journey into the otherworldly Danakil Depression. Drive across dramatic desert landscapes to reach Erta Ale, one of the few active lava lakes in the world. Overnight: Camping at Erta Ale ●Day 2: Erta Ale – Dallol – Hamedela Enjoy a sunrise visit at Erta Ale before driving to the colorful hydrothermal fields of Dallol. Continue to the salt plains and watch the sunset over the glowing salt lake. Overnight: Hamedela Camp ● Day 3: Dallol – Mekelle Explore the vibrant mineral formations of Dallol—one of the most surreal landscapes on Earth. Drive to Mekelle. Overnight: Hotel in Mekelle ● Day 4: Mekelle – Hawzen – Abune Yemata Travel to Hawzen and hike to the remarkable Abuna Yemata Guh, perched dramatically on a cliff. Overnight: Hawzen ● Day 5: Hawzen – Axum Drive to Axum, one of Africa’s oldest civilizations. Visit the famous Obelisks of Axum and historical sites. Overnight: Axum ● Day 6: Axum – Lalibela Fly to Lalibela. Visit the legendary Rock-Hewn Churches of Lalibela, carved directly into volcanic rock. Overnight: Lalibela ● Day 7: Lalibela – Gondar Explore more of Lalibela’s churches before flying to Gondar. Overnight: Gondar ● Day 8: Gondar City Tour Visit the historic Fasil Ghebbi and the beautifully painted Debre Berhan Selassie Church. Overnight: Gondar ● Day 9: Gondar – Simien Mountains Drive to the stunning Simien Mountains National Park. Visit Jinbar Waterfall and enjoy breathtaking escarpment views. Overnight: Sankaber Camp ● Day 10: Simien Mountains – Gondar – Addis Ababa Morning hike in the Simien Mountains, spotting wildlife such as Gelada. Drive back to Gondar and fly to Addis Ababa.
