Day 3: Hamedila → Erta Ale (Drive to Erta Ale Base Camp)
● Early Morning:

Day 4: Erta Ale – Full Day Filming and Rest Day

● Mid-Morning to Afternoon:
Spend the rest of the day filming the Erta Ale lava lake from different angles, capturing both wide shots of the volcano and close-up shots of the molten lava. If desired, you can also film the hike up and down to the crater, showcasing the rugged terrain.
● Afternoon:
Take a break during the hottest part of the day to allow your crew to rest and hydrate. Film any additional cultural shots or close-ups of volcanic activity and lava flows. You can also capture the interaction of the local Afar guides with the environment, adding a cultural element to the documentary.
● Evening:
Film the sunset over the desert and capture the lava lake’s glow once again as night falls. Erta Ale’s glow provides stunning visuals for the final night of filming.
● Overnight:
Camp overnight near Erta Ale, capturing the lava lake at night and ensuring you have plenty of footage of this extraordinary volcanic landscape.
Day 5: Erta Ale → Afdera → Semera → Addis Ababa
● Early Morning:
Wake up early to film the last morning shots of the lava lake as the sun rises. The early light on the lava can create a dramatically different visual compared to the previous evening.
● Morning:

● Afternoon:
In Afdera, film the local Afar people swimming and floating in the highly saline lake, an activity unique to this area due to the lake’s extreme salinity. Capture the flotation effect and the geothermal surroundings of the lake.
